ADRIENNE BLENKINSOPP

Adrienne is EAVTs lead guide and Adventure Coordinator for the camp. She will have a B.S in Outdoor Recreation from the State University of New York at Cortland (Cortland, NY) after completion of one more semester.  Adrienne has been with Vermont Adventure Camps since the spring of 2008 and is very experienced working in the outdoors and with teens. She has many wilderness trips under her belt to share with the kids along with her leave no trace ethics.  She is also a climber on both rock and ice as well as an experienced kayak and canoe guide.  Being a ropes coarse facilitator she brings lots of fun team-building games to camp.

These jobs start on or around June 15th and go until the end of August 16th. Current CPR and First Aid or higher is a must. You must be 19 and have at least one year of college in an outdoor related field or of one year of practical experience in an outdoor related field and experience working with teen age kids.

1 camp counselor with Mtn biking background:  We are looking for a camp counselor with a background in mtn biking.  This position will be working in our 6 week travel camp.  This will require CPR, first aid or better.  This will require the ability to work with kids in a camping environment.  The person we choose will be able to work with the kids in each of the adventures the kids participate in, please read the camp description to see if you are a fit. 

Compensation:  lodging, camp meals and $150 a week.

1 camp counselor with a White Water Kayaking background: We are looking for a camp counselor that is a white water kayaker and that can do white water instruction.  A certification in white water instruction is a plus.  This position will be working in our 6 week travel camp.  This will require CPR, first aid or better.  This will require the ability to work with kids in a camping environment.  The person we choose will be able to work with the kids in each of the adventures the kids participate in, please read the camp description to see if you are a fit. 

Compensation:  lodging, camp meals and $150 a week.

1 camp counselor with a Rock Climbing background: We are looking for a camp counselor that can instruct rock climbing as well as set up ropes.  This position will be working in our 6 week travel camp.  This will require CPR, first aid or better.  This will require the ability to work with kids in a camping environment.  The person we choose will be able to work with the kids in each of the adventures the kids participate in, please read the camp description to see if you are a fit. 

Compensation:  lodging, camp meals and $150 a week.

1 camp counselor/ cook, shuttle driver etc…:  This position is for some one who can cook meals in a camp site setting, be responsible for all gear, be the shuttle driver and rotate in trips to give other counselor’s days off. This position will be working in our 6 week travel camp.  This will require CPR, first aid or better.  This will require the ability to work with kids in a camping environment.  The person we choose will be able to work with the kids in each of the adventures the kids participate in, please read the camp description to see if you are a fit. 

Compensation:  lodging, camp meals and $100 a week

1 Camp Counselor with environmental teaching experience:
We are looking for a counselor with some teaching experience.  The person we hire will be working with our EALS program.   Experience in Climbing, Backpacking, Kayaking (White Water a Plus), Canoeing, Wilderness Survival, Teambuilding, and other various activities is preferred.

Compensation:  lodging, camp meals and $150 a week.

1 Camp Counselor/Camp Assistant/ Camp Cook: Same responsibilities as a camp counselor, but your time will be split in helping the camp director with the various office tasks, food prep, camp clean up etc... Previous experience with food preparation is preferred, but we will train you if necessary.

Compensation:  Bunk House (co-ed) lodging, camp meals and $100 a week

4 Camp Counselors with specialties: We are looking for counselors with specialties in: Climbing, Backpacking, Kayaking (White Water a Plus), Canoeing, Wilderness Survival, Teambuilding, and other various activities for Vermont Adventure Camps for the summer of 2009. These positions are for our 8 six day camps for kids 11 to 13. Previous experience with kids is required. Enthusiasm and energy are essential for this job.

Compensation:  Bunk House (co-ed) lodging, camp meals and $150 a week.

4 Camp Counselors with specialties:  We are looking for counselors with specialties in: Climbing, Backpacking, Kayaking (White Water a Plus), Canoeing, Wilderness Survival, Teambuilding, and other various activities for Vermont Adventure Camps for the summer of 2009.  These positions are for our 4 two week camps for teens 14 to 17. Previous experience with kids is required. Enthusiasm and energy are essential for this job.

Compensation:  Bunk House (co-ed) lodging, camp meals and $150 a week.

1 Camp Counselor/Office Assistant/Camp Assistant: Same responsibilities as a camp counselor, but your time will be split in helping the camp director with the various office tasks, food prep, camp clean up etc... You will only be helping in the office a few times a week so you will still have plenty of time to go interact with the campers. Previous experience with office operations is preferred, but we will train you if necessary.

Compensation:  Bunk House (co-ed) lodging, camp meals and $100 a week

1 Camp Nurse/Counselor:  We are looking for a camp nurse.  The position will require at least 3 years of nursing school, a degree, or a nursing license.  The person we hire will also have a specialty in: Climbing, Backpacking, Kayaking, Canoeing, Wilderness Survival, Teambuilding, or other various activities for Vermont Adventure Camps for the summer of 2009.

                                 Willy Williams

Is the Owner of Vermont Adventure Camps.  He has Owned and operated Vermont Adventure Camps since the summer of 2004.  Willy was born and raised in the hills of Vermont.  He grew up in the small town of Andover where he now runs Extreme Adventures of Vermont.  Willy attended Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT where he received a BS in Education and Adventure Recreation.

Willy started out teaching kids with special needs.  He then decided to pursue his dream of operating an adventure business.  In 2004 he lunched Vermont Adventure Camps and Extreme Adventures of Vermont. It has now grown to be one of New England's premiere adventure companies keeping a small and personable environment. He has spent many years biking the back roads and climbing the local ledges as well as kayaking and canoeing Vermont's lakes and rivers.
Mario Molin

Mario has his B.S. in Forestry with a thematic in German and a B.S. in Applied Ecology minor Earth Science.  He has been with Vermont Adventure Camps since the spring of 2008. He is a rock and ice climber with training through the Austrian Alpine Association.  Mario is a adventure and environmental educator with many skills.  His experience in both recreation and environmental fields is seen through the ways he teaches in each activities he leads.  You will see Mario leading any of the many trips Vermont Adventure Camps offers.  He is the lead climbing guide for Vermont Adventure Camps.
Cara White

Cara is EAVT's new camp director for 2009.  After high school she taught as a substitute teacher and interned in the music department at Ludlow Elementary School in 2002-2003.  In 2004 she graduated from the Massage Institute of Memphis and took additional classes at The Suncoast School in Tampa, Florida in 2005.  She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.  In 2008 she started her hiking career with Appalachian Adventure Tours and hopes to continue her love for outdoor recreations with EAVT.
